Trust Yourself and BE CONFIDENT

What’s the hardest part about being a professional entrepreneur? Taxes and logging your billable hours - LOL!

The reality is that the hardest part of running your own professional practice or business is learning to trust yourself. For a long time, I thought the answers to my questions and challenges as a business owner existed somewhere out there, so that's where I went looking for them. Did I find incredible resources? Absolutely. And many of the areas I searched had a lot of answers and insight to offer. But the cold, hard fact remains: at the end of the day, no one else really knows what's best for my business. Because at the end of the day, I am accountable for my business and its outcomes. Can external resources help me be more efficient, market better, and grow my business? Absolutely. Should I keep an open mind to all the new strategies and approaches to my line of work? Absolutely. But every person has a situation that is unique to them, and only they know what will ultimately work and what doesn’t.

But as professional entrepreneurs, this is a crushing weight of responsibility. Sometimes we would much rather have just found the answers in a book or the latest artificial intelligence tool.

I think that’s why we look to others so often instead of asking ourselves what we want to do next. Because it seems like the 'safe,' smart thing to do. It’s pushing an easy button and relying on someone else to save us instead of depending on ourselves. You can learn from others and be inspired by them, but still make the business choices that feel right and make the most sense for you. Be open to new ideas and strategies but take those and figure out how it works for what you do.

Start flexing that muscle (your brain) more. It does some heavy lifting, and you’re gonna need it!
